Whiten your teeth safely at home with custom trays and dental-grade gel—visible results in just a few days.
About Teeth Whitening
Whitening trays are a popular method for teeth whitening, offering a professional-grade solution that can be done at home. This procedure provides gradual whitening, which is generally safe and effective when used as directed.
Teeth Whitening Procedure
Here’s a breakdown of the procedure:
1. Making the Whitening Trays
Custom Fitting: One of our assistants will take impressions of your teeth. These are used to create custom-fitted trays that fit snugly around your teeth, ensuring even distribution of the whitening gel.
2. Receiving the Whitening Trays
Once the trays are made (it usually takes a week), you will return to our office to receive them.
You will be given a whitening gel, which contains a peroxide-based compound (typically carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide).
3. Treatment Duration
Most people need to use the trays for about 7 to 14 days to achieve desired results. The frequency and duration depend on the whitening gel concentration and the individual’s teeth
Any use of whitening products can cause tooth sensitivity, so it’s important to follow the instructions provided.
4. Post-Treatment Care
After whitening, you may experience some tooth sensitivity, which should subside within a day or two. You can use toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth to alleviate discomfort.
Avoid foods and drinks that may stain your teeth, like coffee, red wine, and tobacco, for a few hours after treatment.
5. Results
You should see noticeable results within a few days of starting the treatment. The whitening effect can last several months to a year, depending on your lifestyle and how well you maintain your oral care routine.
6. Maintenance
You can purchase whitening gel at our office and whiten as frequently as you’d like.
